MIG Welding Machines

A MIG welder, also known as a MIG welding machine or a MIG welder unit, is the key piece of equipment used to perform a MIG welding project. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is a widely used welding process in which an electric arc forms between a consumable wire electrode and the workpiece, melting the wire and fusing it with the base metal to create a weld. The MIG welding wire and the weld pool are protected by the metal inert gas to prevent contamination.

One of the advantages of MIG welding over other welding processes is that it is easy to learn and it offers speed, with the process generally faster than other welding processes like TIG welding. This makes a MIG welder ideal for high-production applications.

The MIG welding process is also versatile and can be used on various metals, with MIG welding aluminium, steel and stainless steel all very common. It is frequently used in a wide variety of applications including auto body, general fabrication and repair work.

MIG Welders at Engweld

Engweld offers a wide range of MIG welding machines including portable, compact, and separate MIG welders. You can choose from air-cooled or water-cooled and in single-phase or 3 phase options. This range of MIG welders comes from expert brands like ESAB, Lincoln Electric, Parweld and Migatronic, all of which would be a great addition to your workshop. You can find many high-quality gas MIG welders, as well as the inverter MIG welder to step-change your welding experience.

Our MIG welders have many benefits, including advanced features like an adjustable wire speed knob to control the wire feed through the feed unit, or safety features to ensure less splatter and prevent wire burns. You can also adjust welding voltage without losing control of the welding torch.

For DIY welders, we also offer cheaper welders. A simple MIG welder may well be the perfect machine for a DIY enthusiast to still MIG weld aluminium, mild steel and other thinner materials, still providing fine control over the MIG torch and ensuring a great weld evey time.

Additionally, Engweld also stocks other welding machines, including TIG Welders, MMA & Arc Welders and Multiprocess Welders, plus MIG welding essentials like flux cored wire and the ideal gas regulator for control over the shielding gas flow.
