There are several small things you can do to maintain your MIG welding machine. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to clean and maintain the machine, including the wire feeder, MIG torch, and power source.
Use the right wire size and type for welding. Ensure the wire is clean and rust-free. It is also important to use the correct gas for the material you are welding and make sure the gas is clean and free of moisture.
Use the right voltage and amperage for the welding application. Some MIG machines have the feature to save these settings. To state the obvious, keep your welding machine clean after each use and remove dirt, dust, and debris and make sure the air vents are not blocked.
When your machine is not in use, store it properly in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated area. Ensure it remains covered when not in operation.
