Spot Welding Machines

Spot welders are extremely useful machines to have within a workshop, able to create localised spot welds very simply which will stand the test of time. Spot welding itself is a form of resistance welding, whereby an intense bolt of heat and pressure is emitted to a precise location on the base materials, creating a strong weld in the desired location.

Spot welding machines achieve this weld by using two copper alloy electrodes, which focus the welding current into one exact spot. Using a welding clamp, the two pieces of metal are held together while the spot welder passes the electrical current through them to encounter resistance, which creates the incredible heat. The heat causes the metals to melt in the precise spot and weld together in what often appears as a weld nugget. This nugget will eventually cool to leave the metals fully bonded together.
