Tape measure is a measuring tool used for measuring lengths and distances.

A stud tape has a patented finger stop to protect fingers from blade retraction. 

It is important to note that tape measures can have different levels of accuracy. Most professional tape measures in the market are Class 2 which are suitable for most professionals and industries. Class 1 Tape Measures offer the highest accuracy preferred by professionals operating in sensitive industries and require that extra accuracy. There are also unclassified tapes which means their accuracy is not certified to any known standard.

Factors to consider when choosing a Tape Measure:

• Length: they come in various lengths from 3m to 30m+. Consider what you will be measuring to determine the appropriate length. 
• Width: The width of the tape measure can affect its durability and ease of use. A wider tape measure may be more durable, but it may be more difficult to handle. 
• Accuracy: of the tape measure is important and they are often classed as Class 1, Class 2, or Unclassified. 
• Design: an ergonomic design will improve usability and handling.
• Readability: Most tapes are yellow with black and red markings that are easy to read.
• Base: flat base and backrest will offer horizontal stability and easy vertical measuring.
• Blade Protection: a tape measure may have nylon-coated blade protection against debris, dirt, and water. Mylar-coated blades can be 10 times more resistant to abrasion than normal lacquered blades.
• Housing material: most tape measures have tough ABS housing with impact resistance and may also have over-mold for comfort and durability. 
• Locking mechanism: is important to keep the tape measure from retracting while you're using it. 
• Standout: the distance the tape measure can extend without bending or collapsing. A tape measure with a high standout may be needed especially if you are working alone.
