Thanks to a long history of drawing and production, Bessey steel has long been associated with precision and high performance. The corporate motto – ‘simply better’ – is reflected in their clamps, which represent the best in build quality and user-focused design. With a rich manufacturing heritage, customer peace of mind over product origins and durability is assured. The comprehensive range of well over 1200 available products means there’s a Bessey clamp to suit any welding requirement.
Whether you are a metalworker or a woodworker, the chances of you not finding a suitable Bessey clamp for your application are slim to none. With a range of clamps to suit any application, including heavy-duty clamps, lever clamps, G-clamps, and parallel clamps, you will not be left wanting.
Due to the large range of Bessey clamps we stock at Engweld, we’re confident that you will be able to find a clamp that is perfectly tailored to the task at hand. Rather than trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole, you’ll have a clamp suited to your application, which will not only save you time and increase efficiency but will also ensure added safety.
As we have already touched on, there is a Bessy clamp to suit virtually every application. However, this can mean that choosing the correct clamp for the task at hand can be confusing, and failure to use the correct clamp for the application could potentially have negative safety implications.
So, let's look at the different types of Bessey clamps stocked here at Engweld in a little more detail.
G-Clamps, otherwise known as C-Clamps are one of the most popular and versatile clamps around and are often a go-to, standard clamp for many metalworkers and woodworkers alike. Due to the popularity of G-Clamps, or C-Clamps, there is a range of different designs available, these include:
Simple to use, affordable, and popular, we feel like every clamp collection should start with a few different types and sizes of G-Clamps/C-Clamps.
Key features:
One of the most popular G-Clamps is the Bessey CDF404C 105mm G-Clamp
The main advantage of F-Clamps, otherwise known as Bar Clamps, is that they have been designed with a wide opening capacity. This makes them an excellent alternative to G-Clamps/C-Clamps when you need to clamp larger items and just do not have the opening capacity needed.
The name Bar Clamps comes from the adjustable slider bar which allows you to adjust the opening capacity to suit your needs. For these reasons, the F-Clamps or Bar Clamps are also very popular.
Key features:
We recommend Bessey GSM30 High-Performance Clamp, Bessey GS25K All Steel Screw Clamp, and for heavy-duty Bessey SG50M Clamp.
Parallel Clamps are similar to F-Clamps/Bar Clamps in that they have a large opening capacity. However, unlike F-Clamps/Bar Clamps they have large, parallel jaws which give a large area to distribute the pressure. This prevents them from leaving dimples in the material being clamped.
Key features:
For a Parallel Clamp, we recommend Bessey GRZ-10 Parallel Grip Clamp
Lever Clamps provide faster, more efficient, secure clamping. Bessey Lever Clamps are ideal where multiple clamps are needed at the same time, as they can be set up and taken down quickly and easily. This makes them an excellent option for high-volume production.
Key features:
The two most popular Lever Clamps are the Bessey GH20 Lever Clamp and Bessey GH30 Level Clamp.
