Engweld is delighted to now stock the new innovative Speedglas G5-01 Heavy-Duty Welding Helmets from 3M.
The team at Engweld were invited to an exclusive launch event at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium where the new Speedglas welding safety range was unveiled.
3M wanted to create a helmet that would give welders a better way to control how they see and feel when welding. For this the team has 3M has been working extensively with experienced welders to understand what it is they need from a welding helmet in a range of different working situations.
Based on input from these welders, who are carrying out heavy-duty, high-amperage welding and grinding on a regular basis, the new Speedglas Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 has a number of new key features.
Comfortable and more versatile than ever before
The new 3M Speedglas Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 comes equipped with more adjustable features than ever before. This includes the colour seen through the welding filter to the direction of the airflow and the level of coverage it has for welders.
Variable Colour Technology
With 3M’s new Variable Colour Technology users will get the option to choose between natural, cool or warm tones for their dark state and determine which colour tone provides the best viewing contrast for your welds, and the most comfort for your eyes.
Adjustable Air Flow
The G5-01’s new duct system gives users the ability to direct the airflow to either their face or visor, as well as the amount of air coming from the top outlet against the two side outlets. With more control over personalised settings, users can balance the airflow’s cooling effect, all whilst minimizing flows that could dry out their eyes or nose whilst working.
Tailor To Fit Personal Preferences
The new headband design on the G5-01 means there is a number of self-adjusting comfort paddles for the user's forehead as well as a rotation stopper that has been designed to simplify the donning of the helmet.
There’s also a number of new adjustment options to control the distance and angle from the user's eyes to the clear visor and welding filter and a new extra-large back pad to deliver enhanced comfort.
