Abrasive Belts
Abrasive belts are similar in nature to abrasive rolls, except that they are connected at their ends by a special and extra durable joint. They consist of a backing made of paper, polyester, cotton, blended fabric, non-woven material, or other backing material. The backing is coated with abrasive grains made of zirconia alumina, aluminium oxide, silicon carbide, or ceramic aluminium oxide.
The choice of the right type of abrasive sheet and belt hinges on the properties of the different aforementioned grain materials. For instance, silicon carbide produces sharp-edged grains which can deliver exceptional aggressiveness for processing workpieces with particularly hard surfaces.
Engweld stocks abrasive belts in a wide array of different versions including long belts, short belts, file belts, wide belts, or sleeves. They are available in different shapes, grits, and sizes. Grits range includes 36, 40, 60, 80, 120, and 240. Please note abrasive sheets and belts can be made to order. Please contact us for abrasive belts to best fit the needs of your specific application.
There are different grades for abrasives and the 6 main ones are:

80 Grit: Medium
100 Grit: Medium
120 Grit: Fine
220 Grit: Fine
