Welding lenses are a type of lens used in welding helmets and masks to protect the welder’s eyes from the bright light and ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation emitted during the welding process.

The intense light produced during the welding process is bright enough to blind a person watching with naked eyes, especially at a close range. Welding lenses don’t only protect your eyes but also allow you to see what's happening.

Welding lenses are typically made of glass or plastic that has been treated with a filter material to block harmful UV and IR radiation while allowing visible light to pass through enabling you to see the welding process.

Engweld stocks a comprehensive range of lenses in various shades including 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. The higher the number the darker the lens shade which blocks more light and provides higher protection.

The shade of the welding lens you need will depend on the type of welding you are doing, the welding process, and the level of protection required. For example, MIG welding typically requires a shade between 10-12, while TIG welding usually requires a shade between 8-13.

Engweld welding lenses range includes clear lenses, cover Lenses, plain glass lenses, and plastic lenses for use in front of the shaded lens to help protect the shaded lens from welding spatter.
