Threading Tools

4 sub categories

Threading refers to the process of creating helical grooves on the surface of a cylindrical rod or shaft to allow it to be screwed into a threaded hole or fastened to a threaded nut.

The threads on a mechanical system are usually specified by a standard such as the Unified Thread Standard (UTS), the Metric Thread Standard (MTS), or the British Standard Whitworth (BSW), as well as other standards. These standards define the thread angle, major and minor diameter, pitch diameter, depth, and helix angle.

Threading is a critical process in mechanical systems that enables components to be securely fastened together and allows for easy assembly, disassembly, and repair of machinery. Threading requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that the threads are properly formed and meet the required specifications.

Threading tools are metal cutting tools used to create or repair threads on screws, bolts, and other threaded fasteners. These threading tools come in various sizes and types to fit different sizes and types of fasteners. Most threading tools serve the same function which is to create a thread on a material or surface.

Engweld stocks a range of different threading tools including taps and dies, fluteless taps, spiral flute taps, and spiral point taps.
